News and Updates:

[01/15/08]

We recently set up a new mailing list/street team through ReverbNation.com which will allow us to send out updates and all that good stuff via e-mail, plus allow us to set up a Red Fades to Black Radio street team right through the mailing list. If you've already signed up to our old mailing list you don't have to do a damn thing as that list is in the process of being verified and updated...check your inboxes in the next few days. New subscribers (or if you have a new e-mail address) to our mailing list can sign up by Clicking Here. You can also check out our new ReverbNation page at www.reverbnation.com/redfadestoblackradio.

We're ending 2007 much in the way we started it; by bringing you underground rock, metal, and hardcore from around the global underground. We've put together a list of 10 bands we've featured over the past year; Gina's 5 picks are featured in Part 1 (Red Fades to Black 12.4) available now on iTunes and streaming on our MySpace Page. Part 2 featuring Jared's 5 picks will be available within the next week or so. This best of 2007 list wasn't easy to pick out as all of the bands we play on the show are hand picked by both of us and display immense talent and downright brutal music. 2008 will bring even more underground bands and more insanity...

[10/15/07]

Server crashes and hard drive failures didn't stop us...

The servers that our shows get out to the world from apparently crashed bad but even multiple hard drives failing couldn't stop Red Fades to Black Radio. Much of the data on those drives was damaged or lost but our shows kept streaming through it all and we're happy to report are all still intact and available fully for streaming and downloading. The people over at PodOmatic deserve some thank yous for getting the servers up and running while keeping a lot of their users online.

[08/04/07]

Tune in to the latest episode (Red Fades to Black 8.1) of Red Fades to Black Worldwide Radio available now through iTunes Music Store or the Listen Now link for your chance to win free Red Fades to Black merch including our shirts (which feature our awesome logo) and stickers. All you have to do is tune in for your chance to win...

[06/29/07]

She has returned...Gina is back from Europe and that means a new episode of Red Fades to Black Radio is available now with more episodes on the way. Sweet.

[06/12/07]

Gina is currently traveling all over Europe which is why you haven't heard a new episode lately. She will be back in the States towards the end of June, probably with plenty of crazy stories to tell from her visits to France, England, Amsterdam, Austria, Germany, and Italy; if your from those countries you may even see her wandering around. So we'll most likely be recording and posting up some new episodes towards the very end of June when she returns. Also when she returns we're hoping to take some new photos for the website and myspace as well as do some free giveaways of RFTB merch because who doesn't like free stuff?

[05/09/07]

Check out the Extras section of our site for free Red Fades to Black AIM buddy icons and wallpapers including some new ones, check it out. Also you can now find Red Fades to Black Radio being hosted by various RSS sites across the internet but iTunes and our MySpace page is still the best way to access the newest episodes.

[02/27/07]

We now have an official page over on Purevolume.com so go check it out and add us to your friends list if you have an account. Theres tons of amazing bands from around the world on Purevolume, so it was natural to start an account for RFTB. Click Here to Add us on Purevolume.com. And remember, new episodes are available anytime through iTunes music store and Podomatic.com....

[01/20/07]

Red Fades to Black is back! As you may know we launched our first new episode since May 2006 just the other day. Just click the listen link above to hear it 24/7. Ok so we didn't actually overhaul this site like we had planned on doing, however we are still working on it. There is a new bio up in the About Us section, as well as a new section called 'Action'. You should check it out. Some of the links have been disabled as we're still working on them. Anyways we're very excited to be back and are planning on recording a new Red Fades to Black show weekly. You can of course subscribe to it free on iTunes as well as on Podomatic. Its also available for streaming under the 'listen live' link to the above left and also on our MySpace Page. Over the next few weeks we'll be getting used to our new method of recording and the equipment, so yeah the first few shows might be a little rough around the edges. Any bands interested in having their music on the show simply e-mail us at redfadestoblack@hotmail.com or visit our MySpace page. Tune in and enjoy....

[09/20/06]

A new option has been added to both our MySpace page as well as this site. We have added the Podomatic in site player to both sites which allows you to stream our latest iTunes offerings right from the browser. Click Here to access it or just head to our MySpace page. Also we've added our interview with Mike of Killswitch Engage to the Podcasting.

[08/28/06]

We added another interview to iTunes and Podomatic. This interview is the first interview ever done on RFTB back in around October 2003. It is with the band The Break. So go check it out for free.

[07/22/06]

Finally a damn update. We have finally begun the process of putting up some of our interviews with artists on iTunes. First up is our interview with Wednesday 13 (ex-Murderdolls) available now on iTunes and also Podomatic. If you haven't done so already be sure to hit 'subscribe' on our account on iTunes so you'll get all the latest downloaded right to your computer or iPod. We'll put up more of our interviews as the summer goes on. We are also extremely excited to be moving foward with new shows that will have much more focus on the underground scene mixed of course with the hosting duties of yours truly. Until next time...

[05/05/06]

The show with DTC was great and was officially Red Fades to Black's last show on WEXP Radio. It has been some great times over the past few years; but its not over yet. RFTB has been invited by WEXP to be one of a few select shows to begin broadcasting , for the first time ever, over the summer! They are calling this project 'Live at Five' and so far word is that RFTB will be live Sundays at 5pm est starting in late May and shows will also be available on iTunes as always. More details to come...

[04/20/06]

Thats right THIS SUNDAY April 23rd we are teaming up with Matt Juliano of metal show Dismissing the Cynics for an exclusive 4 HOUR edition of the show. Former DTC co-host John Jordan will be returing to the studio for this insane event. Its all going down Sunday 7-11pm EST worldwide. You don't want to miss this...

[04/03/06]

Ok sorry for the lack of updates. We've of course still been doing shows you can get to the most recent ones for streaming or download from iTunes or Podomatic.com. We have a few ideas for the upcoming shows; next Sunday will most likely feature music from many of the bands heading out on the road for Ozzfest and Sounds of the Underground. Sunday the 23rd we are looking at doing a 4 hour special with Matt Juliano of WEXP's Dismissing the Cynics. For this awesome event we're bringing back John Jordan (ex-Dismissing the Cynics) to join in the on air devastation. Yea its going to be good. Also on a disturbing note, it has come to our attention that a new government agency the IRLB has been formed with the goal of not only giving all websites online a parental rating but actually plans on forcing sites to censor their content. Ok we can kindof understand the idea of a rating system to help parents determine which sites are ok for their kids. But forcing sites to censor things such as humor sites, music sites, artistic sites is absurd. Ebaumsworld was one of the first sites to fall victim to this Bush Administration backed underhanded ploy. This needs to be stopped. Many people were unaware of this behind the scenes plan to destroy online freedoms of speech. People pay for internet access, legally a paid service can not be censored but with this new organization it is. Alex of the band Flesh Engine has started a MySpace Group against it. Also on this agency's IRLB.org site you can contact the leaders of the group and tell them they won't win and will be stopped. They 'claim' they are instilling their core values and ideals back into the internet and making it a safer, more family oriented place. Yeah look at China and Malyesia with their censored, government run internet. Anyways, of course as many of you know our time here at WEXP is running low, so within a few weeks time we'll have an announcement up regarding the future of Red Fades to Black.

[03/07/06]

Just a quick update here from Ireland since I managed to come across some internet access. we've been sticking to mostly rural areas out here where you'll usually see about 10 times more sheep then people and even houses. The views and landscapes are some of the most amazing I've ever seen; I'm not much of a photo taking person but damn not even halfway into this trip and I have over a 100 photos on my camera already. The music scene here is interesting and can vary from town to town. Heard a bunch of American music throughout some stores , mostly pop type stuff. I did see one kid wearing a Sepultura shirt and a few raver looking types. The record strores do carry alot of American rock and metal music as well as plenty of bands which never seem to even touch America. The music scene in bars is very interesting. In America its common to have one of two types of live bands: cover bands and original irish music. Irish cover bands doing American songs (we heard a bit of Bob Dylan covers) always add their own instruments and twist to it. The original bands are not the usual driving rock bands you'd find playing your local American bar; they have a easy to hear influence of Irish music involving accordians, harmonicas, etc. I did notice there is alot less use of full drum sets and havent seen one band using bass heavy instruments; however most bands playing in these Irish bars and pubs had both acoustic and electric guitars being used in every song. These aren't older Irish men; most of the bands have members under 25. One drummer (with his huge set consisting of a hi hat and a snare drum) reminded me of a member of Philly's The Divining just how he looked and played. Unlike the American social scene it seems the Irish are very big on socializing and on the entertainment you the guests offer each other. There is usually only one or two TVs (if any) in most Irish social spots. Anyways this isnt my laptop so I need to finish this up; just figured I'd throw in a post from Ireland. We'll send out the winner's T-Shirts and stickers when I return; .rock.metal.hardcore.

-jared

[02/23/06]

First off thanks to everyone who entered our T-shirt giveaway, everyone who did will be recieving some sweet RFTB stickers free in the mail soon. Be sure to tune in THIS Sunday night 7-9pm est (2/26) live to see if you won a shirt. Wondering why you didn't know of this giveaway? We only did it through MySpace, so head over to our RFTB MySpace and add us as a friend so you can enter the next giveaway event we run over there. Jared will be heading to Ireland soon, plenty to talk about upon the return. He'll be going through various parts of Ireland including the coastline and small towns and probably putting RFTB stickers in not so good places. There will be NO show on Sunday March 5th, the show on March 12th is pending and may feature the sexxy Gina running it. This Sunday however will feature more new music, the t-shirt winners announced, and whatever odd and insane conversations our twisted little minds and relationship come up with.

Also if anyone has been trying to access our recent shows on iTunes or Radiodomain.net , they have been having technical difficulties over there. Radio Domain is working on fixing it and it sucks you can't get the shows right now because oddly enough people have actually been using those services to check us out. We'll keep you posted on that problem, until next time...

[02/09/06]

2006 is already shaping up to be a year of great releases in rock, metal, and hardcore. Starting this Sunday 2/12 we'll be debuting some new music months before its out. Much of this new music is from artists who haven't been on the scene with a CD for quite a few years. It'll be good. Plus we continue our weekly segment of MySpace bands, so if your in a band or know one that has MySpace and music loaded on it, head over to RFTB's MySpace and add us. While your over on MySpace, keep an eye out for bulletins from us for a chance to get free RFTB stuff and a chance to win a free RFTB shirt. Until next time...

[01/28/06]

Granted the network through which our live shows currently broadcast is up and running, this SUNDAY night we will be giving away a Limited Edition copy of Chimaira's debut album which includes two discs and has added material with 2 new tracks and a ton of live tracks. Just tune in for your chance to win. Also we'll be playing a couple of brand new In Flames tracks off their new CD 'Come Clarity' due out in stores next week. On tommorrow's show we will also be announcing details on how you can get some free RFTB stuff. In the meantime check out our MySpace account or the Pictures section; our friend Sandra did us up South Park style...

[01/19/06]

NEW SEASON of Red Fades to Black Radio begins live SUNDAY JANUARY 22nd 2006 at 7pm est...

[12/16/05]

So our all local show on the 4th went really well, played plenty of tracks from some amazing underground bands. On the 2nd we had a chance to see a really good Philly/NY local show with bands How It Ends, The Divining, Bad Blood, and a few others. One of the best local shows we've been to in a while. Seriously if you love metal check out The Divining's site in our bands/links page. Our 'Christmas Show' aka last live show of 2005 went good too, of course you get can free access to both these and the latest RFTB shows through iTunes or Podomatic.com. Its set up like a podcast so you can subscribe or download for free. Much thanks to Anthony of RadioDomain.net for setting up RFTB On Demand and allowing you access to the show whenever you want and on the go. Oh and THIS SATURDAY is Gina's 22nd birthday, be sure you send her some love on our MySpace or send some messages via email. Matt J. hooked us up with some tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show in Philly on her B-Day so should be good times. Anyways live RFTB returns in mid-January 2006, in the meantime you can get access to our most recent shows on iTunes , subscribe because we may be throwing some mini-broadcasts up on there from time to time over break. Keep that music loud and remember, RFTB T-Shirts make good X-mas presents...

[12/01/05]

This Sunday December 4th the underground is taking over. A full 2 hours of local and underground music from all over the place. As we write this we're still getting more and more music from unsigned and indie label bands. Yea its going to kickass. AND now Red Fades to Black Radio is available on iTunes thanks to Radio Domain. So if you have an iPod then load up your iTunes music store, search for Red Fades to Black, hit subscribe and you'll have the latest episode on your iPod. Yep, thats it just one click on subscribe and the rest is automatic. How damn sweet is that? Never miss the metal, the hardcore, the insanity. You don't need an iPod to use the iTunes software but if you don't like downloading, then head over to PodOmatic, hit the play button under the show you want to hear and it'll stream on your computer. Oh yea and did we mention its free to subscribe?

[11/25/05]

[11/20/05]

Ok so we forgot about a scheduling conflict which means tonight's show will not be happening. WEXP Worldwide, the station we currently record at and broadcast from, has coverage of a live sporting event scheduled and our time slot falls in that time. The game show deal will be rescheduled though and check out our friends' show Dismissing the Cynics at 9pm est, Gina and I (jared) may be stopping by their insane little broadcast. Sorry for the mixup and don't worry we're still screwing up radio; we'll be enjoying our week off like rockstars do. .Rock.Metal.Hardcore.Insanity.

[11/17/05]

So first off this coming weekend...1 am est Saturday (after WEXP's Friday night shows) the mighty 24 hour marathon returns to WEXP Radio. 24 hours of pure insanity and sleep deprivation, plus your chance to WIN DVDs, CDs, and other free stuff. So tune in, every WEXP DJ will be stopping by including us here at RFTB Radio. It'll be good times. And this Sunday night tune in at 6:30pm est for a special game show hosted by a producer from the Game Show Network(GSN). RFTB Radio will be going head to head with WEXP show 76 East. So that happens a half hour before our usual timeslot.

[11/11/05]

Been a little while, but holy crap heres an update. First off Radio Domain the other station that syndicates us has announced they will be launching an on demand section of their site for RFTB Radio. What does this mean for you? It means that when the site is up you'll be able to bang your head to past RFTB shows WHENEVER you want. Not totally sure of the format yet, it might be podcasting, it might be streaming, and it might be downloadable. Or hell it might be all three, we'll let you know as soon as the people over at Radio Domain get it up and running. You may have noticed our syndication schedule over there has not been totally accurate, that was due to some technical difficulties here at WEXP Studios, but syndication should resume soon along with RFTB On Demand. Also we only have a couple of live shows left for 2005, but have a lot planned for them. Stay tuned for details on those. If you haven't done so yet click the MySpace link above to become our friend over there as we send out updates and RFTB news even more over there. And if you haven't had a chance to get your hands on a new RFTB T-Shirt, there are still some left. Yea we know the deal, like some of you we are poor college kids as well. But hey its only 10 bucks and part goes to Hopeline.com so you get a new shirt and a good cause. Thanks to all of you who have already purchased one or are planning to. In closing you should pick up the following new CDs which you can hear on RFTB and which are quite awesome: Children of Bodom- Are You Dead Yet?, Demon Hunter- The Triptych, and Through the Eyes of the Dead- Bloodlust. There are plenty more, so tune in to hear the latest. .Rock.Metal.Hardcore.

Check out a Preview of the new RFTB shirts. Sizes, pricing and ordering info will be posted ASAP.

[09/03/05]

Obviously you are all aware of the immense destruction and devastation that has hit the Gulf Coast including the hard hit cities of New Orleans and Biloxi. Many other communities in multiple states have also been severly affected. The news and images of these areas has left us stunned, and we're sure we are not alone. The best thing we can all do right now is make financial donations to the many organizations that are rushing aid and help to the most affected areas. The link above will take you directly to the American Red Cross donation page. Other organizations that are currently working 24/7 in the Gulf Coast area on relief that need contributions include The Salvation Army, Second Harvest, and The Humane Society. There are plenty more charities and volunteer organizations in need of money to continue relief and can be found easily online. Any amount you can donate is needed, whether its hundreds of dollars or some spare change, do it. La Salle University (where our station is located) is currently accepting any students who have been displaced due to the hurricane, more info on this can be found at this location. WEXP and RFTB are planning some fundraising activities locally in the Philadelphia area as well.

We have also been contacted by festival organizers of the New England Punk, Goth and Metal Fest which is in dire need of support as the festival risks the same fate as Hellfest, a cancelled venue. The event is scheduled to take place October 1st and 2nd 2005 in Lowell, MA. They have asked for our support in getting people to sign their petition and call local politicians in the event's area to help secure the venue for this awesome concert with over 70 bands. Get more info and help the music scene by goin to their site. So please donate anything you can to the Hurricane Relief Funds, then head over the festival's site and sign their petition. Any other news and music happenings can be heard live Sundays from 7-9pm est.

[08/26/05]

Only 2 days until the return of Red Fades to Black...Sunday 8/28 7pm est. Rock, metal, hardcore, and insanity. Thats 7-9pm est and you can listen from this site worldwide. [06/16/05]

Hope everyones' summer has been kickass so far. The next few months promise to bring a lot of amazing new releases in the world of rock and metal; bands like System of a Down, Dream Theater, Cold, Arch Enemy, Devil Driver, Nine Inch Nails and Static-X all have new cds out now or coming out this summer. On the local front, bands like Cipher and How It Ends have new cds out this summer too.(Which by the way are two amazing and hardworking bands outta New York and Philly who were a part of our last Nocturne concert.) And we couldn't mention local music without plugging Luckystar's new music video up now Here. Yes a relatively short list for now, but theres also word of new cds from bands like Rob Zombie and Dimmu Borgir coming in the near future as well. Blabbermouth.net usually has pretty good press releases for upcoming CDs so if you want to know whats coming out, go there. In the world of RFTB we have a few things we hope to finally have ready come the Fall. The long delayed new shirts we hope to have ready sometime mid-fall. We are also planning to release an RFTB Records compilation cd featuring a ton of bands from the Philly area as well as some from around the country. Once we secure and finalize funding those projects should get done very quickly and get into your hands. Be sure to check out our EXTRAS section for some brand new desktop backgrounds for free! Anyways just a short update to let you know we're still alive over here, just on summer break. Look for another update and possible CD reviews coming to the site soon.

And yes the rumors are true, Gina and I will be reairing some of Red Fades to Black's best interviews including our interview with comedian Dane Cook and Killswitch Engage bassist Mike D. We'll let you know exactly when they'll be airing very soon. We are also working on what could be a huge ticket giveaway if we pull it off, but not only that we are in fact working on putting another Nocturne concert event before the summer. Oh and we updated the Links section. We have a lot to talk about the next few shows as well as some great new music heard only on RFTB so be sure you tune in and waste a couple of hours with us.

[02/25/05]

If you haven't checked out the article in the Courier Post about the Red Fades to Black Nocturne charity concert, then you should check it out Right Here. Its a really good article so you should all read it. The Courier Post is South Jersey's newspaper. In other upcoming RFTB news local Jersey band Leave of Absence will be on the show to discuss upcoming plans and work on their first full length. Should be a good show going down THIS Sunday the 27th, 7-9pm est. And of course if you can't catch the live airing, catch it all week on Radio Domain. Oh and a great local band, Luckystar will be in town tommorrow nite at La Salle University with a ton of other bands, just 3 bucks.

[02/15/05]

Finally you can catch of glimpse of Gina along with many more new pictures! We have updated the DJ pics, Nocturne pics, and Random pics. So go over to the Pictures section right now. Also we have given in and finally got our own MySpace account so go over to our RFTB MySpace to be our friend. We have been getting some underground music from all over the globe thanks to the reach of MySpace and are currently waiting for some demo cds to bring this new music to you on the show. Oh and stay tuned for news about an upcoming interview, media coverage, and more...

[02/03/05]

Now you can listen to the latest Red Fades to Black show 6 days a week!! We still air LIVE Sundays 7-9pm est which is the best because with live airings anything can happen. In addition to our live show, as promised, Radio Domain has officially begun syndicating us on their station. Go HERE for the full broadcast schedule and all the times you can catch RFTB. Or just click the TUNE IN link above anytime to see our latest airing schedule. You should really check out Radio Domain, not only do they have the latest RFTB show 5 days a week, but we here at Red Fades to Black have been powering some of the new station's playlists and another WEXP show- Needle to the Groove is being syndicated on the station as well, so you know it will kickass. Also just a note, this Sunday 2/6 we will not have a live show for obvious reasons (Eagles at the Super Bowl!). You can of course check out a classic RFTB episode during our regular slot and also HERE. RFTB Army look out for another email coming very soon...

[01/26/05]

So the first show of RFTB in 2005 on our new day and time went well. Thanks to all the callers who checked in throughout the show including members of the Jersey band Leave of Absence and Matt of the WEXP show 'Dismissing the Cynics'. The Past shows section has been updated so you can see what songs and bands we've been playing lately. Also a bunch of local(not just Philly) and underground bands have been getting in touch with us and sending us some of their music. So this season get ready for more unsigned, underground, and local bands being played on our show. One such band from North Carolina is very amazing, but you gotta listen in. I know we've been promising new RFTB shirts for quite a while and they ARE being worked on. Some details just need to be worked out then we'll have the designs up for you all to check out before we go ahead and get em. In the meantime we have finally made some RFTB AIM buddy icons (sorry for the only 'ok' quality), and wallpapers. We also have posted a new RFTB flyer. For now you can only get these by joining the RFTB Army. Its free and takes about 5 seconds, you'll get a confirmation email and then a welcome email with a link to the RFTB Army page where you can get all these things. New pictures are coming soon as promised and as far as we know the syndication of RFTB on the Live365 Station 'Radio Domain' is set to begin next Monday. Stay tuned...

Gina and Jared here, we hope you all had an awesome holiday and New Years. First off we would like to offer our thoughts and prayers to the friends, fans, family, and band of Darrell Dimebag Abbott who was killed in a pointless act of violence. A legend in the world of music has been lost and will be missed. Also our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims of the tsunami as well as the hundreds of thousands who are homeless in those affected countries. Every little bit each of us can give will help, check out The American Red Cross to donate today.

In the world of Red Fades to Black we have been working on a lot of new stuff: syndicated RFTB, new online features, clothing, the list goes on. On the site you can check out a ton of new links in our Links section. So go listen to some amazing bands and kill your online boredom. Also we have added a new bios of both Gina and Jared under the About Us section. So now all you curious freaks can read all about the crazy couple behind RFTB. In our Past Shows section we will be adding a playlist for all future shows, so you can see exactly what kickass music we're blasting each week. We are also working hard to put some clothes on your backs, t-shirts that is. We scrapped our previous shirt design and our currently working on some sweet custom RFTB designs for these shirts. Hopefully some designs will show up on here for you all to check out before we decide which one is getting printed. Gina has some great ideas already on paper, so stay tuned about the shirts. For 2005 we have changed our live show time, it will be on Sunday nights from 7-9pm, we'll let you know when the new shows begin again asap. But don't worry if you can't tune in for the rock and insanity on Sundays because we will be syndicated on Cyber Radio, a live 365 station, 5 days a week starting in late January. Thats right whenever you can't catch our live airings you'll be able to hear the latest RFTB show at different times and classic episodes over breaks. We're finalizing that deal and will post the live and re-run schedule here as soon as we get it. This syndication is really cool and we are definitely looking foward to it. Oh yeah if you are in the South Jersey area and looking for something to do, check out the Wasted Apples/MMN Productions movie marathon. 3 movies, 3 nights, 3 bucks each. They are great people and make some great movies and you can check em out this weekend at the Cinemark 16 in Somerdale, NJ. More details HERE. So the Nocturne on the 13th went well. We raised close to 500 dollars for my sick cousin Todd and hopefully WEXP will be cutting an official check to the family within the next week or so. Thanks to all the people who came and rocked out with us, and thanks to all the bands (Forever I Burn, Dead Again, The Divining, How It Ends, Fall River and Cipher) for putting on an awesome show. I also want to personally thank Gina Monturo, Kevin Hyslop, Joe Nagle, and Lisa Faye for their help throughout the concert. It rocked so much! We're hoping to do it again sometime in the near future. Also the designer of the infamous 'bOb' stickers that many see all over Philadelphia and other cities has made an official RFTB Bob. You can check it out Here Email or IM us to get a hold of some stickers of your own. Of course theres been a lot more going on in the world of RFTB and if you were signed up with the RFTB Army you would know, so click the link above to join and get the exclusive stuff. It takes about 15 seconds to sign up and its free, so do it!! Details are coming soon regarding the new RFTB co-host and various projects we have been working on as well as RFTB in the news, so stay tuned.

[11/09/04]

This SATURDAY NOVEMBER 13th is the RFTB/WEXP Nocturne Concert! Doors are at 6pm! How It Ends, Fall River, Forever I Burn, Cipher, The Divining, and Dead Again are all playing so you should all come out and support these hard working bands. Did I mention its only 5 bucks! Thats right 6 bands for only 5 bucks, and 100% of the proceeds are going to benefit Todd Shelly and Cystic Fibrosis. If that wasnt enough to make you come out (hey awesome bands, great cause) check this out. La Salle Students get in FREE with their student ID thanks to La Salle University. Plus you can finally get your hands on some sweet looking Red Fades to Black Radio stickers FREE with a $1 dollar donation. It all goes down around 6pm this Saturday with bands playing till at least 11:30pm in the Dunleavy Room on the 3rd Floor of La Salle's Union Building. Todd Shelly is my younger cousin who is terminally ill with Cystic Fibrosis. In addition to having to take a huge amount of medicines daily he also has to be hooked up to an IV twice weekly to be rehydrated, have a machine hooked up to him that shakes and pounds his chest to stimulate fluid flow and break up mucous. He often has difficulty breathing or doing much of anything. This Nocturne isnt only an awesome rock concert for 5 bucks, its something close to me and Todd is not the only one with CF, many kids his age, younger and older also have it. The more people who come the more we can give to Todd and his family to help with his care and treatment as well as towards Cystic Fibrosis research, alls you got to do is show up Saturday night and rock out.

The Nocturne isn't the only big news this week, on THIS FRIDAY'S SHOW, Mr. Tommy Avallone, the head of MMN Productions and Wasted Apples will be in the studio live. Him and his crew are a group of independent writers, film makers, producers, artists, clothing designers, and fundraisers. Tommy is coming on the show to promote his Beards For Cancer charity, talk about his upcoming clothing line Rock Hard Klothing, discuss his group's latest films and work, as well as what he promises is a special performance live on air. On another note, as many of you already know. My friend, roommate, and co-host Chris Pompeo has decided to leave Red Fades to Black for 'artistic and creative differences'. Over the year or so he has been with Red Fades to Black he has brought countless local bands to our broadcasts through their CDs, live performances, and interviews. I'd like to thank him for his contributions to Red Fades to Black and wish him luck on his future projects. Look for my more official, complete statement regarding his departure sometime next week.
